One day away from a long weekend and I am READY👏 FOR👏 IT👏! I’m heading off the grid to Winthrop for some biking, warmer weather, and of course a stop at the Mazama Store (iykyk). Don’t get me wrong, I love Seattle, but a little escape from the big city is much needed every once in a while.
If you can’t head out any time soon, here’s a fun event (and giveaway!) taking place in parks around the city for an escape for the day:
Flow Fest Seattle turns Volunteer Park and Woodland Park into a glowing playground of fire dancing, flow arts, and collective whimsy from 6/12 to 6/14. We’re giving away a pair of tickets for the weekend, packed with workshops, performances, and very impressive coordination skills.*
JUST ANNOUNCED
A Death From Above 1979 show feels less like a concert and more like a controlled demolition. The reunited Canadian duo brings its massive riffs, electronic noise, and sweat-soaked dance-rock energy to The Crocodile on 10/30 for one very loud evening.
BOGO tickets for The Black Keys? That feels dangerously reasonable. Use code DO206 to catch the Peaches ‘N Kream tour at Remlinger Farms on 5/29 for a night packed with fuzzy guitars, garage-rock energy, and extremely loud singalongs.*
Cameron Whitcomb brings his gravelly voice, chaotic charm, and deeply human songwriting to the Paramount Theatre on 10/14 for a night that feels equal parts country, rock, and emotional overshare.
Funk riffs arrive on 8/29 when Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears roll through Seattle for a night built around loud guitars and unstoppable grooves. The Tractor Tavern feels like the perfect place for this kind of glorious mess.
Plus other just announced shows from Son Volt, Madeon, and more!
